The Idropower project
In May of 2015, the Idropower project, managed by the volunteer group Prociv Città di Foligno ONLUS, was launched to optimize emergency aid operations in urban areas affected by natural disasters such as landslides and floods. The project involved equipping a vehicle with a tank fitted with a high-pressure pump and a nozzle. Supporting this vehicle is a 10,000-liter tank installed on a pickup truck. The Idropower project uses this equipment to remove the mud and dirt that can cover homes and streets after a hydrogeological disaster, overcoming the obstacles posed by steps and even the steepest of inclines. This tool enables the civil defense unit to provide support not only in the local area but throughout Italy. The company donated a total of over 5,000 Euro. The fundraiser, promoted by Umbra and organized by the volunteers of Prociv. Città di Foligno, took place on May 5th, 2015, with a benefit show titled Il cuore di Valter Baldaccini (The Heart of Valter Baldaccini) performed at the Auditorium San Domenico in Foligno.
