The IN-BOOK Library

A tailor-made book project for children

Having stories read to them is an important early experience for all children, supporting their emotional, linguistic, and cognitive development from their very first months. This experience becomes crucial for those children living with disabilities or complex communication needs. These children would gain enormous benefit from listening to stories, but often they are read to less, because finding suitable books for them is difficult. Creating "custom" books tailored to meet each child's needs is the goal of the IN-BOOK Library project, presented on March 29th, 2014 at the Biblioteca Ragazzi children's library in Foligno and made possible through the support of UMBRAGROUP and La Gomena ONLUS. Starting in January of 2016, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation directly coordinated this project, which ended in 2019.
