FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW

The international event dedicated to the aerospace and aeronautics sectors, which opened its doors on July 16th in Farnborough, England, ended yesterday. As always, it represents an extraordinary business opportunity and a unique showcase for Umbrian companies.

This year, 10 companies from the UMBRIA AEROSPACE CLUSTER participated: COMEAR, FOMAP, FUCINE UMBRE, NCM, RF MICROTECH, OMA, SERMES, TEMIS, UAS, and UMBRAGROUP.  The cluster introduces itself to major international players, to Italian institutions – including AIAD and the Ministry of Defense -and to high-level leaders from civil and military institutions.

The FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW also provides an excellent opportunity to make contacts with other companies. In fact, it is not uncommon to find synergy with different companies at the fair. For example, during the event, UMBRAGROUP negotiated an important agreement to supply ballscrews to UAS for a new generation aircraft.

As our CEO and President of Umbriaerospace, Antonio Baldaccini said: “Our continuing presence at exhibitions is fundamental for maximizing the companies’ visibility and for establishing their role in the panorama of main players in the global aerospace sector.  We achieved this result with firm support from the Region of Umbria and DevelopUmbria. A concrete example of a public – private alliance that has provided, and continues to provide, definite results from the point of view of developing the agencies involved, with all the ensuing benefits, starting with the effect on employment in the Region.”

Some institutions also visited our stand: The President of the Senate Defense Committee, Dr. Tesei; President of the Piedmont Region, Dr. Marini; and the General Manager of DevelopUmbria, Dr. Agostini, who said: “I am greatly satisfied by the presence of the highly qualified Umbrian companies in the sector. Progressively, the partnership between the public and private sectors is the essential element for the competitiveness of companies and, more generally, of the territory. Aerospace is a confirmed driving sector and provides a great opportunity for training and hiring qualified human resources.”
